Boonah has cafes, an art gallery, a cinema, a library, a Supa IGA, three op shops, four pubs, bakeries and butchers. It’s all a short walk from the front gate.
Within twenty minutes’ drive there are three dams. Go to Moogerah Dam on a dark night and the number of stars is genuinely startling. There are national parks for hiking and rock climbing, a good few wineries, and the largest camel farm in the southern hemisphere.
Mount French National Park is the closest of the parks and it’s about a mile and a bit away. Brisbane Airport is 97 kilometres.
